We build retaining walls as engineering projects, not landscape projects. Geo-grid reinforcement on anything over 30". Free-draining crushed-stone backfill. Filter fabric. Weep holes. The visible face is the result, not the design.
Materials range from segmental block (Versa-Lok, Allan Block, Techo-Bloc) for clean modern walls, to dry-stacked natural stone for organic and historic-feel projects, to mortared full-bed stone for the high-end installations.

Synthetic grid layers tied into the hill behind the wall — pull strength built in.

We've built terraced walls up to 12 ft total height. Single tier, typically 4–6 ft is the sweet spot before requiring stamped engineering.
A properly engineered wall on a proper base, drained correctly, lasts 50+ years. We've rebuilt many 15-year-old walls that weren't engineered.
